Alvar Wall Lighting Sconce, Alabaster Globe Wall Sconces with Draped Chain, Bedroom & Hallway
The Alvar wall lighting sconce pairs a natural alabaster globe with a metal chain and backplate. The globe measures 5.1 in (13 cm) across, and the whole fixture stands 8.3 in tall. It comes in brass, brushed nickel or black, so it is easy to match to existing hardware. Like most wall lighting sconces in this style, it works as an accent piece on a quiet wall.
Each alabaster wall sconce has a honey-toned stone globe that glows warmly when lit. A short arm with a ball tip holds the globe away from a round backplate. A metal chain loop drapes below it. Alabaster is a natural stone, so veining and color differ from piece to piece. No two globes look exactly alike.
This sconce wall lighting fixture works well in pairs on either side of a bed, which makes it a good fit for bedroom wall sconces lighting. It also suits hallways, entryways and dining areas. The supplier does not state the bulb type, wattage or wiring method, so check those details before you plan the installation. The compact 5.1 in globe suits small walls where a larger fixture would crowd the space.
Features
- Warm stone glow: The alabaster globe diffuses light into a soft, honey-toned glow that feels calm in a bedroom or hallway.
- Every piece is unique: Natural veining and color variation mean your sconce is one of a kind, which adds character to a plain wall.
- Draped chain detail: The metal chain loop below the globe gives the fixture a classic look without adding bulk.
- Three finish choices: Brass, brushed nickel and black make it easier to match door hardware, faucets or other fixtures in the room.
- Compact footprint: A 5.1 in globe and round backplate fit narrow walls and the space beside a bed.

Common Questions
What size is the Alvar sconce?
The globe is 5.1 in (13 cm) in diameter, and the overall fixture is 8.3 in tall.
What finishes are available?
The metal chain and backplate come in brass, brushed nickel or black.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Not exactly. Natural alabaster varies in veining and color, so each globe is unique. Expect a honey-toned stone with its own pattern.
Is it hardwired or plug-in?
The supplier does not state the power connection. Check the product page or ask us before you order if this matters for your wall.
What bulb does it need?
The supplier does not list a bulb type or maximum wattage. We would rather not guess, so please confirm with us first.
Is it dimmable?
This is not stated by the supplier. Dimming depends on the bulb and the wiring, so confirm both before assuming it works.
Can I use it in a bedroom?
Yes. The soft glow and compact size suit bedroom wall sconces lighting, and many people mount one on each side of the bed. Check the bulb and wiring first.
Can I use it outdoors?
The supplier does not state any outdoor or moisture rating, so treat it as an indoor fixture.
What is the chain for?
It is a decorative loop that drapes below the globe and adds to the classic look.
How do I clean it?
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Alabaster is a soft natural stone, so skip harsh cleaners and avoid soaking it.
