These outdoor exterior wall lights are a flat, round disc of hand-finished micro-cement that sits slightly off the wall. A hidden LED behind the disc sends warm 3000K light out around the rim, so the wall gets a soft ring of glow. The Aksel is rated IP65, which makes it a good outdoor wall sconce for porches, entrances, patios and garden walls.
By day it reads as a smooth stone disc. By night it becomes a gentle halo on the wall. The color runs through the cement and sand rather than sitting in a paint layer: White is white cement with light sand, and Black is grey cement with dark sand. The style is minimalist and modern, with a wabi-sabi feel from the hand-finished speckle.
This wall sconce is hardwired to AC 100-240V and has an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to change. It comes in three sizes: Ø 5.9″ (6W), Ø 7.9″ (9W) and Ø 10.2″ (12W), all 2.4″ deep. You can mix sizes on one wall for a layered look. It also works indoors in a hallway or stairwell.
